I caution anyone with pets or small children to avoid this property.
Very nice ! Looks beautiful. Everything is very well maintained and great location. Very convenient.
I stayed at Apollo in late May 2017 for two nights for the NASCAR race. While I was setting up my camp, I saw a large, very vicious pit bull dog attack a little Chijuajua being walked on a leash. The pit bull was running loose, and obviously a large fighting dog. The pit bull came from behind a permanent park-model trailer only a short distance from my campsite. I went to the office to request another site, farther away from the vicious dog, mince I was traveling with three small, gentle dogs. I was rudely informed that I would not be given another site, and if I did not like it, I could "Pack my happy ass up and get out of there," without a refund.
The owners further told me that I should keep MY dogs under control. When I pointed out that the pit bull was the one running loose and the dog that had been attacked was on a leash, The owners became enraged even more. It was obvious to me that they were not interested in taking any action to protect the guests or their property. No action was taken against the owner of the pit bull. The Chijuajua was injured with multiple bite wounds.
Later, one of the owners came to my campsite and offered me half of my site rental back on the condition that I leave immediately. I declined that offer, but I will NEVER return to this unsafe property.
Definitely an RV Camp designed for the long term RV resident, but very good monthly prices, and so far, everyone has been very nice...
This place offers no amenities, but the price is reasonable. This is not a good place to stay if you have children, because there is nothing for them to do, nor is it really that safe. They allow vicious dogs. We left early because we could not walk out of our camper door without being threatened by our neighbor's pit bulls or stepping in their dog poop. Most of the camp sites are way too close together. Cell phone signal is terrible despite being very close to a major city. The grass around our camper had not been mowed in a month. Over all a very unpleasant experience. If you can afford to pay more to stay elsewhere, do so.
I could not take my dogs out for walks without carrying a firearm.
We have been coming to this campground for almost 3 years now and thoroughly enjoy our stay. The owners are the sweetest people and very helpful when you are in need. You can receive/send mail from there home on the sunporch. There is trash pick up everyday or you can bring it to the many garbage cans. They keep the properties very well maintained. The property is convenient to any and all kinds of shopping ( I love the Antique Stores), restaurants, grocery, animal needs and vehicle/RV supplies. It is also located across from the Speedway. Whenever we are within an hour's drive to work this is where we will always stay. I love the peace and quiet here. They are pet friendly ( out of respect for everyone you need to pick up after your pet...no one wants to step in or smell your dogs poo). They are kid friendly but have no amenities for the children, however there are parks all around. There are 4 campground right here and all owned and operated by family. We have a 43 ' camper and stay here for several months at a time and they can accommodate us without a problem. I highly recommend staying here.
