Only gave them 1 stars cause couldn't go lower or negative 5. Backwards and treat basic traffic tickets like a violent charge or something.. Don't be a minute late cause car trouble and even called but won't take messages cause won't do late checkins anymore.
Staff are very curt in their responses if you ask questions, and very unhelpful.. obviously miserable in their chaotic working environment. It became clear very early on that those people who could afford to hire Atty's were the only cases that were really treated as pertinent. I sat there for hours and watched people 's cases who were pulled over and had meth on them WALK out of the court room, or in many cases those caught with drugs or selling them, received the same fines as people who got a failure to wear their seatbelt ticket. SERIOUSLY? I was speechless!! One man faced our judge (female btw) with his 3rd domestic violence charge and yet walked right out of the courtroom with a slap on the wrist . I was sickened at this judicial system and how cases were handled. It was a huge education, albeit forced upon me and hundreds of others as we waited for our case to finally be called. The bailiff actually threatened to ARREST people who had to leave by the afternoon to go pick up their kids or something very important as no one had planned for or could believe their case had still not been heard and they'd be forced to spend the entire day there for a traffic ticket. What is wrong with Cabarrus county ? somebody, somewhere please do something !!!
I'm giving this reviews for the building not the actual court. I like to visit old courthouses and this one is really nice. Nice architecture.
The perfect example of what Laurel and Hardy's County Courthouse would function like. The jokes that come out of here on a daily basis are enough to make the whole world cry, not just the citizens of Cabarrus County. You think the U.S. Government officials are dumb...Geez.. These clowns are their equals. Another total waste of the taxpayers' money. Now what?
The most horrific mess I've seen in my life! Better to just pay your ticket online than to deal with any of it!!! Unorganized.... Not only that but putting 1800 people on one judge is ridiculous! People don't have that much time to miss work! Needs to be organized!
Cabarrus county courts have got to be THE most archaic, backwards, moronic, POOR EXCUSE FOR A JUDICIAL SYSTEM I have ever had the misfortune of encountering! If you get a traffic ticket be prepared to lose what could be DAYS of lost income from work. Mecklenburg county is so well organized and efficient and probably handles more cases than Cabarrus but in a much better way. I literally sat from 9am through two recesses, then the courts one and a half hour lunch break and my case was not even called until 3:10!!
